Save more, spend less
Given what is happening in the energy market right now, we know that many households and small businesses are worried about rising energy prices.
Energy bills are increasing for many Australians, so it’s important to know what you can do to avoid paying more than necessary and where to get advice and guidance.
Energy Made Easy is a free Australian Government energy price comparison service for households and small businesses in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, that can be used to find and compare home and small business electricity and gas plans.

If you live or operate a business in:
- Victoria – you can use Victorian Energy Compare
- the Northern Territory – you can refer to the Power and Water website for retail electricity information
- Western Australia – you can refer to the Economic Regulation Authority website for retail electricity and gas information.
They will need to ask you some questions about your household or small business and your energy usage. First, you need to tell them what type of plan you are looking for and where you are located. It is a good idea to have a recent bill in front of you as this may help you answer some of the questions they will ask. They can provide more personalised results if you tell them about your energy usage though this is optional for households. If you are a small business you will have to provide your energy usage information from your bills.
